MAKE UP FOR EVER HISTORY
Long-time professional make up artist, Dany Sanz, founded MAKE UP FOR EVER in 1984 when she was looking to fill a gap in the beauty industry. Dany became well known for creating high-performance, wearable make up and the brand quickly became a cult favorite among make up professionals backstage and on-set. Now available in over 50 countries around the world, MAKE UP FOR EVER has become the artists’ reference for information, inspiration, artistry and education. Originally a painter and sculptor, Dany is credited as the artist who pioneered the art of body painting in France, evolving her love for color, texture and art from the canvas to the human form. Dany’s expertise in make up artistry ranges from beauty to theater, fashion to special effects – literally touching on every facet of the make up artist industry. This varied expertise has allowed her to lead the brand’s development with a focus on the creative and artistic integrity that makes MAKE UP FOR EVER unique in the world.
HISTORY OF THE ACADEMY
With a true passion for artistry and sharing her knowledge with budding make up artist, Dany Sanz started the MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy in Paris in 2002. Prior to the launch of the Academy, Dany Sanz also established and directed the prestigious “Ecole Chauveau” in Paris, which allowed her to discover a new facet of make up artistry – the education and inspiration of new artists. The Paris based Academy inspired a crop of Academies to be developed throughout the world. Today there are MAKE UP FOR EVER Academies in Paris, New York, Nice, Seoul, as well as affiliates in Hong Kong, Taipei, Beirut, Brussels, Jakarta, and Singapore.

The Academy curriculum has been designed to master the craft of make up artistry in a manner that is unique in the industry. MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy is international with global perspectives. We teach every aspect of make up artistry from beauty to body painting according to the methods of our founder, Dany Sanz. We utilize and embrace each student’s unique creativity and approach to the craft of make up artistry. We provide direct and specific critiques of students’ work on a daily basis focusing on methods to improve technique and results.
